Originally designed by the Education Development Center (EDC) through USAID and implemented by organizations like FREE, this program was delivering powerful results before its abrupt shutdown. In just six months, it achieved 90% graduate placement in jobs, internships, or entrepreneurial ventures; 89% employer satisfaction for professionalism, resilience, and work ethic; and more than 150 workplace projects completed, building valuable real-world experience.
Beyond the numbers, alumni secured grants, launched businesses, and achieved career breakthroughs—clear proof of its life-changing impact and contribution to Liberia’s workforce.
Since its closure, efforts to have learners pay only $65 USD for the 5-month program to cover facilities and facilitators’ renumeration have proven impossible due to this financial barrier. With youth unemployment in Liberia at 80%, without this program, our younger generation risks being left behind in a fast-changing economy.
As one of FREE’s signature projects, we have managed to keep it alive through limited institutional resources and the support of a few goodwill partners, working to expand USAID’s legacy.
Your support will reduce youth unemployment and underemployment, foster entrepreneurship and innovation, strengthen Liberia’s human capital and economic resilience, and build a pipeline of ethical, skilled, and adaptable leaders.
???? Join Us. Sponsor a youth today and help them step closer to the world of work. Every contribution moves Liberia toward a future where young people are not just job-ready—but shaping the economy, solving problems, and leading communities.
