HEALING HEARTS, BUILDING PEACE: BOMI TRAUMA RELIEF CLUSTER TRAINING SUCCESS STORY

The Foundation for Research, Education & Empowerment (FREE Liberia) is proud to report the successful implementation of the first Trauma Relief Cluster Training in Tubmanburg, Bomi County, held on March 20, 2026.

Under the theme “Healthy People Build a Peaceful Nation,” the training surpassed its attendance target, bringing together 58 participants from a cross-section of participants. The impact was profound: lives were touched, hearts were healed, hope was restored, and a renewed sense of responsibility was inspired.

To every participant and community member, we affirm: You are not alone. Hope is here. Healing is possible.

This initiative is designed to equip participants with practical tools for emotional healing, stress management, and peacebuilding, empowering them to support themselves and others as Trauma-Relief Ambassadors within their communities. This initiative contributes to the operationalization of the Rev. William R. Tolbert, III Chair for Peacebuilding, Mediation, Conflict Resolution, Reconciliation, and National Unity, and supports ongoing efforts toward sustaining peace in Liberia. It also advances the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals—Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and Goal 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions).

We extend our deepest appreciation to our generous funder, Friends of Liberia, a US-based organization, for making this impactful initiative possible. We also thank our valued partners: the Liberia Institute for “Growing” Patriotism (LIGP), the Angie Brooks International Centre (ABIC), and Cuttington University for their strong collaboration and commitment.

Special thanks go to our participants and the dedicated staff and facilitators of FREE Liberia. Through your commitment and with God’s grace, we have fulfilled a meaningful purpose—healing hearts, strengthening hope, and building resilience.

This is only the beginning.

We warmly invite partners, stakeholders, and community members to join us in the upcoming cluster trainings:
