Under his leadership, FREE Liberia has secured and managed collaborative projects with international partners including the Education Development Center (EDC), Chemonics International, CODE, and ZOA Liberia, positively impacting hundreds of educators and youth.

He currently serves as Assistant Professor at both the University of Liberia Graduate School and Cuttington University Graduate School, where he teaches core educational courses including Advanced Psychology, Instructional Supervision, Curriculum Development, Educational Counseling, and Teaching Strategies. He is also a passionate mentor and research supervisor, championing learner-centered pedagogy and practical, real-world application.

Charles holds a PhD in Developmental and Educational Psychology from Central China Normal University, with a research focus on student motivation, academic performance, and learning strategies. His academic expertise is further enriched by his impactful public service at Liberia’s Ministry of Education, where he served as Basic Education Director and later became the founding Executive Director of the Center of Excellence for Teacher Licensing and School Accreditation—a national reform initiative he helped design and implement.

He is also the author of three motivational books that have inspired readers across Liberia and the diaspora, and a two-time alumnus of the U.S. Department of State—having participated in both the Mandela Washington Fellowship and the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP). In March 2025, he proudly represented Liberia at the 69th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69) at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

With a strong foundation in academic leadership, a deep commitment to national transformation, and a growing global perspective, Dr. Charles Gbollie continues to drive meaningful change through education, innovation, and service through FREE and other services.
