IMPACTFUL OCTOBER HIGHLIGHTS

IMPACTFUL OCTOBER HIGHLIGHTS

Though October has passed, its impact and inspiration remain strong!

A major milestone was the 5th Liberia Trauma Relief Cluster Training held in Kakata, Margibi County, bringing together over 120 participants from diverse backgrounds for a life-changing day of healing, resilience, and peacebuilding under the theme: “Healthy People Build a Peaceful Nation.”

This transformative event was organized through a powerful partnership between the Liberia Institute for “Growing” Patriotism (LIGP), the Angie Brooks International Centre for Women’s Empowerment, Leadership Development, International Peace & Security (ABIC), and Cuttington University, with facilitation by Dr. Charles Gbollie and team from FREE Liberia.

The training formed part of the Sustaining Liberia’s Peace Initiative under the Rev. William R. Tolbert III Chair for Peacebuilding, Mediation, Conflict Resolution, Reconciliation, and National Unity, aligning with SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being and SDG 16 – Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions.

One participant shared:

“Before your training, I would never share my songs or writings publicly. But I’m never shutting in again — I will use my voice! Thank you for helping me overcome my fear of failure.”

Healing Liberia begins with healing ourselves.

We extend deep appreciation to:

  • Hon. Olubanke King-Akerele, Founder of LIGP

  • Cllr. Yvette Chesson-Wureh, Board Chair, ABIC

  • Dr. Romelle A. Horton, President, Cuttington University

  • Rev. Fr. Terry M. Quoi, Head, CU Junior College, Kakata

And to our dedicated FREE Liberia team — Dr. Charles Gbollie, Philip Y. Kollee, and Ollie White — thank you for your compassion, professionalism, and leadership in guiding participants toward healing and hope.

OCTOBER PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT SEMINAR

On October 30, just a day before the Kakata training, we hosted 21 passionate young professionals for our Personal Development Seminar on “Identifying and Leveraging Opportunities.”

Held virtually via Zoom, it was a dynamic and empowering session focused on breaking cycles of poverty and lack, inspiring participants to rewrite their stories and take bold steps toward success.

Key takeaway:

“Opportunity isn’t luck — it’s where preparation meets readiness. Nothing great falls on people; people rise to meet greatness.”

We ended October 2025 strong — filled with gratitude to God, our partners, and team whose commitment continues to drive FREE’s vision of improving lives through evidence-driven solutions.

Here’s to a November to Remember — filled with healing, impact, and new opportunities!
