It was a great honor for Foundation for Research, Education & Empowerment (FREE) Liberia to join the 8th Baccalaureate and Commencement celebrations of one of Liberia’s premier institutions of higher learning — Starz University. Over the years, Starz has proven itself a true beacon of hope, excellence, and aspiration, especially in the field of Information Technology, shaping young minds for a rapidly evolving digital world.
At the invitation of the University, FREE Liberia, represented by its CEO Dr. Charles Gbollie, was delighted to participate in this milestone occasion as Starz graduated over 280 students across undergraduate and graduate programs.
The ceremonies drew key national and international dignitaries, including UN Resident Coordinator, Madam N. Christine Umutoni, who delivered a deeply inspiring keynote address. She challenged the graduates to embrace identity and purpose, reminding them that: “If you don’t know your story, you cannot know your glory.”
In his remarks at Commencement Convocation, Dr. Gbollie commended the administration and vision-bearer of Starz University, Amb. Latim Da-Thong, for his unwavering commitment to empowering young people. He highlighted Amb. Da-Thong’s remarkable journey, passion, and leadership as an example of what it means to transform challenges into opportunities for others.
FREE Liberia expressed profound appreciation to Starz University for its continued partnership and reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening collaboration for the good of society. Starz remains one of FREE’s valued partners, with a strong history of cooperation through the Youth Advance Program and other transformative initiatives.
Speaking to the graduates, Dr. Gbollie urged them to see themselves as unstoppable, encouraging them to boldly embrace the practice and business of education, leadership, and personal growth.
His message was clear: “Go and make the difference.”
